Uttlesford Building Design Code
Following on from the earlier workshops held by Uttlesford District Council, they will be hosting more Design Code workshops this year that anyone can attend and contribute to:
- Wednesday 23 November – Online community meeting Wednesday 23 November 2022, 6.30-8pm, Zoom
Details will be posted on the website at https://uttlesforddesigncode.co.uk/ and emailed to anyone who has registered for updates.
Please note, the online workshop will now be open to the wider public, rather than only Community Stakeholder Forum members, to widen the engagement.

Uttlesford Transport Survey
Uttlesford District Council has asked us to share a link to a survey being carried out by Essex County Council regarding the future of public transport in the region.
The survey will likely inform the future approach taken to important subjects like bus services:

Uttlesford Urban Design codes for new building: workshop day
We have been asked by UDC to publicise a workshop day to discuss the setting out of the Uttlesford Design Code. This will be a planning document used by local people, planning officers and developers in the preparation and assessment of planning applications for new development. The aim will be to improve the design quality of new developments in the district.
The event is on:
Saturday 22 October 2022 – St Mary’s Parish Church, Saffron Walden CB10 1JP
Activities include:
- All-day drop-in exhibition
- Coach tour with local architect and historian Mike Hibbs (free, booking essential) 9am-1pm
- Presentation and workshop discussion 2pm-5pm

Parish Council office re-opening

September Parish Council Planning meeting
The scheduled September Planning Meeting was not held due to the mourning period for Her Late Majesty The Queen.
As a result there will be a planning committee meeting on Wednesday 5th October at 6pm in the Committee Room at the URC Hall in advance of the full Council Meeting.

Farleigh Hospice Cycle for Life Event cancelled
We have been advised that the Farleigh Hospice Cycle for Life Event (due to have a checkpoint at Frenches Green) has been cancelled this weekend as a mark of respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and to provide staff, volunteers and supporters with an opportunity to travel into London should they wish.

Message from the Chair of Felsted Parish Council on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
On behalf of the Parish Council, sincere condolences are expressed to The King, Charles III, the Queen Consort and their family at the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth ll.
A letter of condolence will be sent to the King on behalf of the Parish Council and the residents of Felsted Parish. The Parish flag will be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect.
The Parish Council will cease all business for the ten days of mourning.
Our community are welcome, if they so wish, to mark their respects with flowers at the village memorial.

Essex Police – Beat Surgery
PCSO Natalie Smith will be hosting a new beat surgery at The Wood Cottage Tearoom, Felsted, CM6 3DJ.
These drop in sessions are an opportunity for residents to:
- speak with the local community policing team about any concerns that they may have;
- obtain crime prevention advice;
- stop by for a chat.
Surgeries dates / times are as follows
Thursday 22nd September 22 10:00 am – midday
Thursday 20th October 22 10:00 am – midday
Thursday 24th November 22 10:00 am – midday
