WELCOME TO FELSTED
Located in north-west Essex and with a population of around 3,000, the Parish of Felsted has at its heart the historic village of Felsted, surrounded by Greens and Hamlets, in a beautiful rural setting.
Felsted retains the underlying charm and attraction of a rural parish, with the community and village at its heart. This is what attracts people to the area and what we as the Parish Council see as our historic duty to protect. Preservation of our heritage is balanced with a duty to ensure that the Parish thrives and meets the future needs of our community.

Light news: L’Etape London cycle event
On 23rd September the L’Etape London cycle event will be taking place.
Following the Tour de France route, cyclists will be passing through the parish from mid-morning to mid-afternoon.
The event is now in its 4th year and is a popular mass participation cycle event on predominantly open roads. The event is open to general entries rather than professional riders.
TP ICAP L’Etape London is a non-competitive cycle sportive organised by Human Race Events (part of ASO organisers of Le Tour de France).
Speedwatch in Felsted
The Felsted Speedwatch Group has been working hard to make the roads in our parish safer for us all.
Throughout the summer period they carried out an average of 2 speedwatch sessions a week. In July they recorded 77 speeding motorists and in August there were 90.
In August 8 cars were recorded at more than 10mph over the limit, with one at 17mph over the limit.
The ideal result of course is that no one speeds and so the team has a quiet hour with no speed recordings taken. However, until that point we are grateful for the time they give to the village to help make it safer for us all.
If you are interested in joining the speedwatch team and have perhaps just an hour a week to help out, then please contact the Parish Clerk for more information.
